This article from Marketing Sherpa evaluates social media data for 9 industries, specifically the number of interactions vs. average number of weekly posts. What they found was interesting – nonprofits see the most shares but don’t create near the number of social media posts as other organizations, which clearly demonstrates that more isn’t always better. #5 – Killer Chairs: How Desk Jobs Ruin Your Health
As freelancers and digital marketers, we’re always sitting down it seems. But sitting may slowly be killing you. Most health problems like diabetes, obesity and cardiovascular issues are typically linked to eating too much – rarely is sitting considered the culprit. One man in his 40s who was 50 pounds overweight and type-2 diabetic discovered this after he began taking light walks rather than sit for some his meetings. Well, that wraps up this week’s top 5. I’ve been studying the effects of sitting, especially the effects of working in front of a computer on your neck, shoulders and other muscles. My hope is to start a conversation on how digital marketers cope with, and address the pain that seems inevitable from staring out our laptops, tablets and smartphones.
